That was a second day of English exam. That day was for chapter two : simple past tense. That was not a special day for Omar. As usual, he already was at school early morning. He waited his teacher to start that exam. His teacher asked him to come to the exam room. His teacher asked him, “how were you?”. Omar answered, I was very fine.” His teacher asked him, “were you ready to do the second exam?”. Omar said, “Yeah, I was ready to get the best.” His teacher asked, “well, told me the definition of simple past tense!”. Omar said, “simple past tense is a verb tense used for a past activity, or, a past state of being. The simple past tense is used to describe a completed activity that started in the past, and, ended in the past”. His teacher asked, that was right, you were right!, told me, then, the fifteen examples that you had given me yesterday.” Omar said, “those were :
1. My parrot sang “The Sun smiled at me”.
2. My dad and my mom went to work that morning at 6 o’clock.
3. My Sister, Sarah, she spent her last weekend with her father and her mother.
4. The students had to study hard in classroom, and, to do homework at home.
5. The students had to brush their teeth, and, wash their face before to school.
6. I was happy.
7. She was cheerful.
8. They were intelligent.
9. I swam in the sea last Saturday.
10. We drank eight glasses of mineral water that day.
11. The class ended at 11 o’clock.
12. I woke up at half past four that morning.
13. A man walked into a bank.
14. She watched a romantic movie.
15. They ate the Italian food at new restaurant near their house.
His teacher said, “ that was cool.” She asked, “you did already know well the simple past tense, you would to say any more?”. Omar said, “thanked to his teacher to say that”. He answered, “ there were two types of verb in English, those were regular, and, irregular verbs. We had to carefully conjugate to simple past. And the last one, I would tell the simple past structure. That was, subject, and, followed by the verb two called the verb simple past.” His teacher said, ‘you also passed the second chapter, saw you to the last one, thanked you to be a good student.” Omar said, “you were welcome.” He went to home. He was very happy that day.

Omar berkata, “simple past tense adalah waktu dalam kata kerja yang digunakan untuk aktivitas masa lalu, atau, keadaan masa lalu. Simple past tense digunakan untuk menggambarkan aktivitas yang telah selesai yang dimulai di masa lalu, dan, berakhir di masa lalu”. Gurunya berkata, itu benar, kamu benar!, lalu beri tahu saya, lima belas contoh yang kamu berikan kepada saya kemarin. Umar berkata, “Itu adalah:
